BLAST RADIO IS BACK!

It’s that time of the year again when Thames Valley University’s Official Student Radio Station ‘Blast Radio’ goes on air on the FM frequency and of course on the Internet for a month. We broadcast from the 4th May 2010 till 30th May 2010 on 87.7FM (5 Miles surrounding TVU – Ealing Campus) and on the Internet on the following address: http://www.blast-radio.co.uk.

This year is going to be the biggest year of Blast Radio and since its transformation from Tube Radio. Broadcasting from the famous Ealing Film Studios, this year we will be broadcasting from 8am till midnight all the way round on weekdays. On weekends we don’t stop there, we continue and start broadcasting from early as 9am till midnight too. After the clock strikes midnight, we will have a few shows which TVU students will broadcast and we will also have some Mega Mix Shows and Party Anthems on Friday and Saturday Nights.

The usual mainstream programming is in place in the Blast Radio schedule, ‘The Breakfast Show’ kicks off Blast Radio in the mornings of the weekdays, and then we get to hear some excellent radio programming in current affairs, magazine shows, entertainment and fashion shows. The lunch time show starts at 12pm in the afternoon and after that we start getting slightly relaxed with ‘The Chill Out Show’ and then get our adrenaline running in the Drive Time show. 6pm onwards and most of weekends, we have Blast Radio’s specialist shows, showcasing music of all genres such as RnB, Indie, Rock, Hip Hop, Bollywood, etc and the list goes on and not to forget even Korean music is played too.

Exclusive interviews, hot topics, studio debates and great feature packages complete our specialist programming and there is definitely a show for everyone to tune into, so don’t miss out! Weekends, we start bright and early with our ‘Weekend Breakfast Show’ followed by exclusive music radio documentaries produced by TVU students and believe me they are awesome, so get up early! We also have a lunchtime show on the weekends with a 12pm start. On Saturday’s we have a sports show, while on a Sunday we have the Soccer Blast team blasting away their penalties, banter, discussions and other mayhem they have in mind and then 6pm onwards on weekends we have more music specialist shows to finish off the days.
